Baker, Montana – The Baker Chamber of Commerce & Agriculture is reaching out to local businesses and community members to take part in an upcoming Job & Career Exploration Day designed to connect students with real-world skills and career paths. Organizers say the event is a chance for young people to learn directly from professionals who live and work in their own region.
The Chamber is asking business owners, workers, and individuals from a wide range of fields to share their experiences with students and explain how they built their careers. The goal is to help youth better understand the steps it takes to enter different industries and the opportunities that may exist close to home.
Local businesses invited to engage with students
According to the Chamber, participants are encouraged to visit classrooms and show students in an interactive way the career path you chose and why. Businesses that are currently hiring, or expect to need help over the summer, are also welcome to bring job applications for students to complete during the event.
Career Exploration Day is scheduled for April 15 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Baker High School. Organizers say the event gives students hands-on exposure to careers they may not otherwise experience, while also helping employers connect with future workers.
Businesses or individuals who want to participate are asked to contact the Chamber office by March 15. Interested participants can call 406-778-2266 or email [email protected] for more information.
Chamber leaders say community involvement is key to preparing students for life after graduation and helping them see the value of local career opportunities.
