City of Helena closing offices for Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Helena, Montana – The City of Helena has announced that its administrative offices will be closed on Monday, January 15, to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day. This closure is part of the annual recognition of the civil rights leader’s contributions.

It’s important to note that the closure will affect several services in the city. According to their announcement, the Transfer Station and the Municipal Court will not be operational on this day. However, there is an exception: Capital Transit will continue to operate as usual.

For residents concerned about garbage collection, there is a change to the schedule. Those who have their garbage collected on Mondays will need to adjust for the holiday. The city informs residents to place their garbage bins out by 7 a.m. on Tuesday, following the holiday.

Residents with any questions or concerns, particularly about garbage collection or the Transfer Station, should not hesitate to contact the city at 406-447-8086. This number is a direct line to get assistance and answers regarding the modified service schedule due to the holiday closure.

Remember, these changes are temporary and only for the duration of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day observance. Regular services and schedules will resume after the holiday.
