Billings Police Department shared additional details regarding a crash that left one dead, several injured

Billings, Montana – The Billings Police Department (BPD) recently shared new details regarding the rollover crash that occurred on Friday night. This accident, which took place at the busy intersection of King Avenue W and S 31st St. W, resulted in the untimely death of a 15-year-old boy and injuries to several others.

According to the BPD’s update, the vehicle was traveling eastbound when the driver lost control. This led to the vehicle veering off the road and rolling over. As a result, two of the occupants in the vehicle were ejected in the crash. One of the ejected passengers was the 15-year-old boy, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other occupants of the vehicle were taken to a local hospital. They were treated for the injuries they sustained in the crash. The initial investigation conducted by the BPD showed that excessive speed played a significant role in the crash.

In their official press release, the BPD chose not to disclose the identity of the young victim.

As of 8:45 a.m. on Saturday, January 6, the investigating officers had completed their on-site work and allowed King Ave. W. to be reopened for traffic.

The BPD extended their gratitude to the Billings Fire Department, AMR, and the Yellowstone County Sheriff’s Office for their collaboration.
